The 6thgrade scientists solved a catty crime this week by analyzing the ink of a ransom note through the use of chromatography. A Miss Carrie Oakey discovered her cat was missing and enlisted our student’s help in finding the kidnapper. Knowing that ink is a mixture, our students used a solvent to analyze the ink from pens confiscated from the suspects. Justice was done when Sandy Beeche was arrested and the cat was safely returned to its owner.
